To find out which is larger, do 5 divided by 8, which equals 0.625. 0.625 is larger than 0.58

to make it easier to compare, convert the fraction to a decimal;
5/8 = 5 ÷ 8 = 0.63(rounded to the nearest hundredth)
so now we could compare the two decimals;
0.63
>
0.58 so
5/8 is greater than 0.58
