The answer is anecdotal evidence. Something anecdotal has to do with anecdotes which are little stories. Anecdotal evidence is grounded on word of mouth rather than hard facts. People like to a piece of stories about things that occurred to them, or that they overheard about, to make a point. That type of talk is anecdotal which is based on small, private accounts.
