Prepositional Phrases
DEFINITION: a group of words containing at least one preposition and one noun; the subject of the sentence can never be in the prepositional phrase; a prepositional phrase can never contain a verb
EXAMPLE: across the puddle
EXAMPLE: across the wavering puddle (wavering is a progressive verb acting as an adjective)
