Sound is a longitudinal compression wave that is the movement of gas along the direction of the wave. Hence, there is no sound in space

Because sound is not an electromagnetic wave. Sound is a mechanical wave. It's a vibration of stuff. Electromagnetic waves are vibrations of electric and magnetic fields.
