Supposedly, the zoot suit riots were caused because the people who wore them and made them were considered to be unpatriotic because they didn't support the fabric rationing act as zoot suits used a lot of fabric. In reality, it was a bunch of people angry at minorities during the war because they considered the minorities to be unpatriotic and weren't supportive of the war effort.
