You can pretty much use the basic formula for this one. You can do the following:
x^2*3.14=12
x^2=12/3.14
x^2= 3.82...
x = 1.95...

So the answer would be 2.

area=pi times radius²

area=12

12=pi times radius²

aprox pi=3.141592
divide both sides by pi

sqrt both sides
