Weight is the gravitational force exerted on any body having mass.

The relation between mass and weight can be given by

[tex]W=mg[/tex]

Here, W is the weight, m is the mass and g is the acceleration due to gravity.

The value of g is constant on earth and is independent of the mass of the object.

Thus, to calculate the mass in kilograms, known weight can be used as

[tex]m=\frac{W}{g}[/tex]
