The area of the small rectangle is 26 because 8+8=16 and 5+5=10, so 16+10=26. Then the area of the rectangle is 40 because 9+9=18 and 11+11=22. To Both the area of the whole figure (shape) we add both answers, so 26+40=66. In conclusion the answer of the whole figure is 66.
The area will be 40 for the small rectangle because 5*8=40 and 99 for the big rectangle because 11*9=99. To get the whole area, we add those, so 40+99=139.

Area is 139
Perimeter is 66
