By definition, a rational number is a number that can be expressed as the quotient or fraction p/q of two integers and since dividing a number with a fraction is the same as multiplying that number with the inverse of that fraction we can conclude it is similar.
The reciprocal of a number is the fraction flipped upside down so the reciprocal of -2/5 is -5/2
