the moons light or shape that is shown is how much light it is emitting from the sun. so if the moon doesn’t see that much sun, then it won’t be as visible as if it seen a lot of sun.

Answer:

As the Moon orbits our planet, its varying position means that the Sun lights up different regions, creating the illusion that the Moon is changing shape over time.

Explanation:

This is because it rotates once on its axis in exactly the same time it takes to orbit Earth – 27 days and seven hours.
