If I am a cartographer, I can tell that continents are once joined because of the shape of the continents that once you observe their sides, it's like a puzzle.
this is because when you align the coastlines of the continents, they appear to fit together pretty well. the most likely separated from natural disasters such as earthquakes, etc.
