Answer:

AM=MB                  (definition of midpoint)

5y-5=3y+27

5y-3y-5=27

2y-5=27

2y=27+5

2y=32

y=32/2

y=16

Therefore,

AM=5y-5

= 5(16)-5

= 80-5

= 75
