Medically speaking, death happens in two stages. The first, clinical death, lasts for four to six minutes from the moment a person stops breathing and the heart stops pumping blood.
What happens after someone dies is that your organs shut down. If you’ve ever been put under anesthesia, I’d imagine it’s something similar to that in the sense that everything goes black. You don’t dream, hear, or see anything.
