The Nile Delta refers to the section of the Nile where the river runs
into the Mediterranean sea.

Nile delta is where the Nile river drains the water into the Mediterranean sea and ends its course. It reaches the Mediterranean sea from the northern side of Egypt and drains in the delta there.

This delta is one of the largest in the world. It covers almost 240km of land region and is a major agricultural zone continuously inhabited since multiple millennia.

It extends from Alexandria in the east to port Said in the west.
