The scale for a map says that 1 cm is equal to 25 miles. Jennifer measures the distance between two cities as 4.5 cm. How far apart are the cities?

112.5 miles because 4x25=100 and half of 25 is 12.5 so 100+12.5= 112.5
technically 4.5x25=112.5

1 cm = 25 miles 
therefore 4.5cm = (4.5 x 25)miles
