The Maya civilization was a Mesoamerican civilization developed by the Maya peoples, and Mesoamerica was one of six cradles of civilization worldwide. The Late Preclassic cultural florescence collapsed in the 1st century AD and many of at this time was Qʼumarkaj, the capital of the aggressive Kʼicheʼ kingdom.
