First you need to multiply the two sides of the whole rectangle to get the total area
(X+10)(2X+5) = 2x^2 + 25x + 50
Then you need to find the area of the non shaded region
(X+1)(x+1) = x^2 + 2x + 1
Then to find the area of just the shaded region you have to subtract the whole area by the non shaded area
(2x^2 + 25x +50) - (x^2 + 2x + 1)
= x^2 + 23x + 48
I think that’s the answer I’m not sure :)
