This results in the duplication of the chromosomes This is followed by the segregation and division of the duplicated chromosomes into the two daughter cells. The same applies to the meiosis process where the DNA replication and duplication are followed in the same manner as mitosis. Hence the duplication of chromosomes happen at the beginning of both mitosis and meiosis processes.
