To solve this problem you must apply the proccedure shown below:

1. By applying the Geometric Mean (Altitude)Theorem, you have:

[tex] \frac{NO}{OM} =\frac{LO}{NO} \\ NO=4\\ OM=k\\ LO=8 [/tex]

2. When you substitute values, and you solve for [tex] k [/tex], you obtain:

[tex] \frac{4}{k} =\frac{8}{4}\\ 8k=16\\ k=2 [/tex]

The answer is: [tex] k=2 [/tex]
