Privacy, as it relates to the Internet, encompasses what information about individuals is available, how it is used, and by whom.
It is the privacy and security level of personal data published via the Internet. Privacy can entail either Personally Identifying Information (PII), which is any information that can be used to identify an individual like name or physical address or non-PII information, site visitor's behavior on a website for example.
