Simplify both sides of the equation

15+3w+12+w=3

(3w+w)+(15+12)=3

Combine like terms

4w+27=3

Subtract 27 from both sides

4w+27-27=3-27

4w=-24

Divide both sides by 4

4w/4=-24/4

w=-6
