Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions — high blood
pressure, high blood sugar, excessive body fat especially around the waist, and
unstable cholesterol or triglyceride levels — that occur all at the same time,
increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis. Having these
conditions simultaneously increases risks of getting a serious disease.
